Windows 7 Sticky Notes
I will show you how to leave sticky notes directly on your desktop. Simply follow the steps below.
1. Click on the Start button
2. Type in Sticky Notes
3. When it is highlighted, press the Enter key
4. You will now have a sticky note on the desktop
5. Right click and you can change the color of the sticky notes
6. Click on the + to create a new note
7. Click on the X to delete the note
8. Press Alt-F4 to close a note you want to keep
9. You are not required to save the notes. The same notes will be there if you open the program again.

You can configure Windows 7 to automatically log you on.

2. Type in netplwiz and press the Enter key
3. Untick “User must enter a user name and password to use this computer”
4. Click on the Apply button

Follow this steps to repair your HardDisk boot record.
1. Boot from the Vista installation CD
2. Click Repair your computer
3. In System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt.
4. At the command prompt, type in Bootrec with the option you want
eg: bootrec /FixMbr
(type this will fix the master boot record)
bootrec /FixMbr
The /FixMbr option writes a Windows Vista-compatible MBR to the system partition. This option does not overwrite the existing partition table. Use this option when you must resolve MBR corruption issues, or when you have to remove non-standard code from the MBR.
bootrec /FixBoot
The /FixBoot option writes a new boot sector to the system partition by using a boot sector that is compatible with Windows Vista. Use this option if one of the following conditions is true:
The boot sector has been replaced with a non-standard Windows Vista boot sector.
The boot sector is damaged.

When viewing a folder with the Thumbnail view, WindowsXP creates a thumbs.db file.
This is a cache of the pictures in the directory. You can turn this feature off and save some disk space
1. Start the Windows Explorer
2. Go to Tools / Folder Options / View
3. In the first section under Files and Folders, check Do not cache thumbnails
4. Now you can search for the thumbs.db file on your computer and remove them. No more should be created.
