Create and mount VHD files in Windows 7

Microsoft’s Virtual PC creates its virtual machine hard drives in VHD files. Windows 7 can now easily mount them and access them in the host system.

Click Start, type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter, then click Action > Attach VHD and choose the file to mount. It will then appear as a virtual drive in Explorer and can be accessed, copied or written just like any other drive.

Click Action > Create VHD and you can now create a new virtual drive of your own. You will have a virtual drive where you can drag and drop files, install programs, test partitioning software or do whatever you like.

Apache Mod_Rewrite Loaded But Still Not Working

You may see this problem when setting up a new vps server. I have this problem in CentOS 5.2 and above. You may have already loaded the mod_rewrite module in httpd.conf, but your http rewrite is still not working. You can solve this problem by changing these value in httpd.conf or virtualhost.conf

Look for this line (usually below the file inside the <virtualhost> tag)
AllowOverride None

Change to
AllowOverride All

Now restart you apache server.

type /etc/init.d/httpd restart
