Are You Experiencing Slow Login Time?

My problem was a 1 min login delay due the aktiveds.dll that loads at startup. The following advice worked for me so I guess it works for any .dll made by NicTech since they all use the same registry folder…

Open up regedit.exe and find THIS folder. Navigate to it by clicking the +’s to expand
things like you would in Windows explorer:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\Guardian

Right click over “Guardian” in the left pane.
Left click on “Permissions”
Left click “SYSTEM” once to highlight it.
Check “deny” in all boxes that you can at the bottom (Probably only 2)
Left click Apply
Left Click OK

Say “OK” to any warnings about permissions
**Reboot** the system

then problems solved

Missing Administrator Account

Once you have created regular user accounts, the default Administrator account vanishes from the Welcome screen, which you see when the computer starts up. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice at the Welcome screen to retrieve the standard logon dialog. You can log on as Administrator from here. To switch among accounts, just click the Log Off button on the Start menu. You’ll then see the Log Off Windows dialog box. Click the Switch User button, and you’ll be taken to the Welcome screen where you can select and log on to other accounts.

How To Set Search For All Files In Winxp

When you perform a search for a file in Windows XP. The default setting is for XP to ONLY return files in the “Search Results” panel - when they are registered file types to a program on your PC.

In other words if you are looking for a file that is NOT registered with an application on your PC, it will not be found using the default search settings.

However, you can turn off the default by a quick Tweak of the registry!

Open the Registry editor (type regedit from the Run command) and navigate to:

HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Control\
ContentIndex

Double-Click the value named:

FilterFilesWithUnknownExtensions

..and change the value from 0 to 1

Exit the registry editor and reboot!

Sag and Tension Analysis

Conductor sag and tension analysis is an important consideration in overhead transmission and distribution line design. The quality and quantity of electrical service supplied over a line depend largely on whether the conductors have been properly installed. Thus, it is necessary to determine in advance the amount of sag and tension to be given to the conductors at a given temperature. Tension in the conductors contributes to the mechanical load on the supporting structures. The factors affecting the sag of a conductor stung between supports are:
· Conductor load per unit length
· Span, i.e., the distance between the supports
· Temperature
· Conductor tension

The conductor load is calculated based on weight of the conductor itself, weight of the ice or snow clinging to the conductor and the wind pressure on the conductor.
The conductor tension is classified as follows:

1. Initial unloaded tension – State of conductor when it is initially stung (no ice or no wind)
2. Final unloaded tension – After subjected to ice and wind loads or long term creep.
3. Loaded tension – State when it is loaded to the assumed ice and wind loading.
4. Extreme wind tension – When it has a wind blowing on it to a value not less than the 50 year mean, (No ice loading)
5. Extreme ice tension – When it is loaded with 25 to 50 mm of radial ice.

Optimum Scheduling of Generator Including Transmission Losses

Transmission losses are neglected when all the load centers are nearer to the generating   stations.
Normally, generating stations are located far away from load centers.
Hence, power loss due to transmission line should be considered.
The total loss of a system varies 5 to 10% of the total power to be transmitted.

Economic Operation of Power Plants

The factors influencing power generation at minimum cost are operating efficiencies of generators, fuel cost, and transmission losses. The most efficient generator in the system does not guarantee minimum cost as it may be located in an area where fuel cost is high. Also, if the plant is located far from the load centre, transmission losses may be considerable higher and hence the plant may be overly uneconomical. Hence, the problem is to determine the generation of different plants such that the total operating cost is minimum. The operating cost plays an important role in the economic scheduling.
