Preparing to install Problem in Office 2003

Everytime you open an office program in normal acounts this annoying configuring windows appears “Preparing to install“, “Gathering information” etc. This problem will not happen when you run office 2003 using an admin account.

Are you tired with this annoying error message everytime you launch Office 2003?

Don’t worry, here is a quick solution.

Simply right-click on the icon that runs the Office 2003 apps, and choose “Run as …” and select your administrator account and enter your password, that should fix it by loading and doing it’s post installation stuff. Now next time you run the program again, you don’t need to do that right-click method again. Only just once.

The reason why you’re getting this error is because your other user’s do not have sufficient access privileges to allow Microsoft Office to make significant system changes. That’s why you need to do it using an Administrator account.

The other reason for this error is removing the hidden MSOCache folder from the C: drive. MS felt the need to store installation files there, and made sure to make the program so extra-crappy that it would flip out and act all strange if it was missing, regardless of whether you needed to install anything extra.
